An original hand-painted minhwa painting by Soonja Yoo.

Minhwa (민화), or Korean folk painting, is known for its vivid colors, expressive imagery, and symbolic themes reflecting wishes for good fortune, longevity, and happiness.

Green Grapes celebrates the abundance of ripening fruit, offering a cheerful image of growth and plenty. Its generous clusters and lush foliage evoke the pleasures of a fruitful season and the beauty of everyday life.

In this work, bunches of yellow-green grapes overflow from a white bowl decorated with delicate blue flowers. Soft highlights give the fruit a rounded fullness, while pointed leaves in teal, green, and gold create a crisp decorative contrast. Set against a warm peach background with generous open space above, the arrangement brings together rich detail and a gentle sense of balance.
